Amichien Bonding. This is a method developed by Jan Fennell, now internationally acclaimed as the Dog listener, which will enable you to learn a language that you can use to successfully communicate with your dog. I would recommend that you obtain a copy of one of Jan's first books The Dog Listener or The Practical Dog Listener. It uses a simple and gentle approach that does not require drugs or gadgets, but will become a way-of-life for you, your family and your dog. A life in which you can all enjoy the pleasure of each others company, in a stress-free environment. Your dog (of whatever breed) is descended from the wolf and as such is a 'pack' animal. It will consider itself part of a pack within whatever group it happens to live. As a member of your family unit, it considers all family members as pack members. The pack functions successfully by following a strict set of rules, to which all members adhere and these rules are dictated by the pack leaders (or Alpha Pair). In order to have attained the leadership position they will have demonstrated their ability to deal successfully with all aspects of pack life. As a result all pack members will have total confidence in the 'Alphas' and will happily occupy their own positions as subordinates. Most behavioural problems result from the dog's mistaken belief that it must accept the role of leader, either because the owners have inadvertently given signals to the dog which support that belief, or they have not shown competent leadership themselves. Amichien Bonding is comprised of 4 main elements.
By working on all these areas consistently, we will be able to re-establish the hierarchy within your 'family pack', placing you and the other family members above your dog/s in the pecking order. This removes all the pressure associated with decision-making from its shoulders allowing it to relax and enjoy a stress-free life. Once this has been achieved, the task of addressing the training or specific behavioural problems of the individual will be made much easier. It should be pointed out here that Amichien bonding will not remove the aggressive tendencies of certain fighting breeds (e.g. Pit Bull Terriers), but it can help owners to control situations with their dogs to ensure that those tendencies are never called upon. This is not a one-off, quick fix solution. Once the bonding routines have been established they must be maintained. However, they will become second nature after a while, a way of life that will provide you with years of harmony with your dog. Only genuine Dog Listeners are qualified to use Jan's revolutionary methods. Always ask to see the certificates. |
